What Are Accelerated Mobile Pages?
Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP refers to the open-source framework focusing on the loading speed of web pages in mobile devices. Google launched AMP in 2016 to ensure fast-loading web pages for an overall improved user experience, especially with the increasing usage of mobile internet over desktop browsing. The AMP framework achieves this by limiting JavaScript, simplifying HTML, and also using a Content delivery Network (CDN) to deliver cached content quickly.
These AMPs will use AMP HTML, AMP JavaScript, and AMP CDN as the primary building blocks. AMP HTML is simply a standard HTML but cut down in size by omitting certain elements that would otherwise slow it down. AMP JavaScript is loaded asynchronously and it ensures that content is rendered before all scripts are fully loaded. CDN ensures that AMP cached versions are ready for access to further enhance loading times.
